IMPROVE YOUR WELLBEING – ONE SONG AT A TIME!

IMPROVE YOUR WELLBEING – ONE SONG AT A TIME!

By Beth Pratley, Former Musical Director, Bathurst Panorama Chorus

The science is in – singing has great benefits for our physical and mental health.  And singing in a group has the added benefits of expanding our social network and strengthening our community connections – so important in our increasingly busy and isolated lives.   But don't just take our word for it, this study from the University of Oxford tells it all

So how can local women access all these benefits here in our own Central West community?  Bathurst Panorama Chorus always have the doors open to new members and guests so you can put the theory to the test.   Singing by yourself can be daunting, but singing with others is invigorating and uplifting – reducing your stress levels and releasing endorphins.  You don't need a perfect voice to be part of a singing group – because the 'chorusing effect' means the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts.   Ever heard the phrase "strength in numbers"?  That's what being part of a singing group is all about – both musically and socially!

Putting some regular time aside to participate in an activity that enriches you both physically and creatively has benefits that flow into every part of your life – at home, at work and in your community.   Make this the year you give group singing a try – and see for yourself all the positives it has to offer.    To find out more and to attend a rehearsal – check out www.bathurstpanorama.com or find us on facebook or Instagram @bathurstpanoramachorus
